Biography 1995

But until September 1995 and Shawn Crahan Colsefni Anders decided to reunite the band again. Anders and Shawn met at all times to play "The Werewolf: The Apocalypse (RPG)" (where many of the lyrics were used for MFKR). Anders was helping Shawn in a winter with some welding in his garage.

When they were both drummers (Anders had been singing for a while), and the band wanted to put it together with some additional percussion that move up and down. Paul Gray called by Anders (who was in Los Angeles at the time), and persuaded to return to Des Moines to give a try to the band.

With three base members: Anders, Shawn and Paul added the help of guitarists Donnie Steele (ex-Body Pit guitarist) and Quan Nong (ex-guitarist of Heads On The Wall). The band met in the basement of Anders and how improved musically the band began practicing under the names 'Meld', 'The Pales One', following the first six practices Quan Nong left the band due to musical style and he liked Alternative Rock / Punk. And it's the sense that something was missing in the band, Paul was the one who got Joey, who besides being involved with his new project he was working. Joey Paul Sinclair met with Joey where he worked for several nights, there he invited Joey to look at the band rehearsals in the basement of Anders.

Joey reluctantly agreed and despite missing two rehearsals due to work priorities, not knowing whether to accept or reject the job. The basement where they were rehearsing the majority was extremely small, but for soundproofing the members used carpet with a pet waste, it made the smell of the basement was full of cat urine smell. The first song that Joey heard the first playing with the band was "Slipknot", followed by "Gently" and "Fur." Joey soon realized that he had to be in this band and soon began to play drums, and Shawn was right on the percussion. A band was already formed.

In the basement new songs were taken out in minutes, including titles such as "Killers Are Quiet", "Do Nothing / Bitchslap", "Confessions", "Some Feel", "Part of Me" and "Tattered and Torn." Paul, Shawn and Joey also began to meet separately in Sinclair to discuss ideas and plans for the future of the band. Shawn and Joey also decided that the band would require three drummers to provide in addition to adding a style of hardcore. Shawn wanted to have percussion to the left and right with one in the back controlling it all, creating a wall of energy, a first layer ... Joey plays the main system and consequently is the main drummer who holds the band together. Shawn is the "total energy drummer" and is all aggression, and finally the third element of percussion was done by Anders to add a tribal feel.

Within Sinclair Shawn and Joey also spoke to the band needed another guitarist because the vacant position left by Quan Nong. Josh (ex-guitarist 'Modifidious' and 'inveighed Catharsis') was called and he soon added to the band. Now there were six members in the band. The days passed and the people of Des Moines knew that a new band was forming and they knew who were in it. But no one had heard or seen. Soon a movement was made in the band, Slipknot's first show was actually under various names, 'Meld' (it was Josh's idea).

I was in a club to (Josh) believe was called 'Crowbar' at that time. They did not however Anders masks used those black leather straps around his face called "loincloth." They called themselves "PigSystem" and this show came about a month or two after Josh came into the band (this would be a mid to late November of that year.) That was the only show that was made with Donnie.

The band changed the name back to 'PygSistem', before agreeing with most primary name "Slipknot", the title of his first canción.Slipknot began to take hold and the idea of "Slipknot" was well eventually. The idea of what Slipknot was developing something new and after discussions, Shawn went to a rehearsal of the band with his legendary mask 'Clown', the band decided unanimously that they would use this rare style of expression, Joey came fully equipped with your mask molded expressionless Kabuki and despite difficulty within practices the idea came, the whole aspect of the counter-image that fit so well with their rule of ignoring trends had a great appeal. Soon Shawn contacted his lawyer, due to an interest in recording some studio work. He had spoken with an engineer / producer named Sean McMahon, so I decided to join the band during a practice session.

Sean McMahon: "I had contact with some members of the band and called themselves 'BodyPit' to check it out of the band went to their rehearsal room."

Sean McMahon: "That was the first time I heard them playing in the basement of Anders. Happened long before the masks and gowns to develop. The band was strong and incredibly tight. The music had some melodic parts at that time. They played 'Slipknot', 'Gently', 'Do Nothing / Bitchslap', 'Killers Are Quiet', 'Vizqueen' and 'Fur for me. " Anders did not use a "loincloth" or anything like that.
I pretended not fully understand what was the band around me, because we were only familiar, but the name Slipknot filled the void that existed ('Meld' or 'The Pales One' at the time) was extremely good at what they did, and had necessary momentum. The band soon began work on its first project MFKR abbreviated "Feel Mate Kill Repeat Are."

The band took every available moment to practice, to perform and record within the SR Audio Studios. The SR Audio was amended by the requirements private sessions for the band during the MFKR The Audio SR was filled with pornographic posters, movies, toys, lights and many other things for the band felt they were at home. The recording phase for the MFKR was an occurrence after another.
